Stormie Mills Dirty Dozen…friends of leon gallery.

He’s been a part of the Australian contemporary art landscape for a couple of decades now and straight off the back of his recent exhibition, Scuffling, at Melbourne’s Metro Gallery, Stormie Mills is about to hit Sydney with his new body of work, Dirty Dozen. In the series, Mills mixes spray paint dregs with dirt, acrylic paint and graffiti remover to create 12 ‘dirty’ characters. As the artist himself puts it, “…it shows how most things in life can be of use in another way, shape or form but the human condition is such that it seems to often get stuck in a kind of mental limbo.”

Dirty Dozen opens Thursday 08 September at Friends of Leon.
