And the price comes with the ex-owner…

The legendary (or at least seemingly legendary) place symbolic of promiscuity and “You shook me all night long” vibes, has been sold for over 100 million dollars to Hugh’s neighbor, Daren Metropoulos. The original price equated to 200 million dollars, but it looks like Hefner has decided to compromise the financial aspects.
The new owner is a 32-year-old billionaire and investor, and also the son of the Greek tycoon C. Dean Metropoulos. Taking a short glance at Mr Metropoulos lifestyle doesn’t really leave many doubts that the level of partying most likely won’t be downgraded. This party-goer is already familiar with the mansion’s interior – we can see him comfortably posing next to Snoop Dog (and a bunch of Playboy bunnies) at a party held there in 2012:
The mansion has over 2 thousand square meters with 29 rooms. It includes a game house, wine cellar, home theater, a mini-zoo, a golf course, a couple of pools and the infamous Grotto.
“The Playboy mansion” was built in 1921 and was bought by Hefner in 1971, which apparently left him enough time to develop nostalgic feelings towards his home. Unsurprisingly, Hefner wishes to continue living on his property. What is quite surprising, though, is the fact that Mr Metropoulos agreed to buy it under certain conditions. To clarify, he will basically share the vast sybaritic area with the 90-year old Hugh Hefner (and his lovely 30-year-old wife) until he drops dead. Scott Flander, Playboy’s chief executive, said:
“The Playboy mansion has been a creative center for Hef as his residence and workplace for the past 40 years, as it will continue to be if the property is sold.”
Another requirement is to leave the outside of the house and the gardens surrounding the property intact. However, the outdated interiors need some solid modernisation and refurbishment.
We just hope Mr Metropoulos won’t run into any major issues with his new roomie, but it will definitely be exciting to see further developments and keep our ears open to some new crazy stories.
