Adidas is making headlines this week after announcing that they will only be using recycled plastics in their products by the year 2024.
The goal is to eliminate the use of “virgin” plastic, including polyester, which has become popular because it dries quickly and weighs little. The three stripes also announced that they will stop using virgin plastic in its offices, retail outlets, warehouses and distribution centers. The change could save up to an estimated 40 tons of plastic per year.
It’s a great move for the brand, who also recently introduced their line of Parley sneakers that are made from recycled plastic waste from the ocean.
